Carissa & I have 4 children and have been serving at SCC since January 2022. Originally from North Brisbane, we spent a few years in Singleton NSW church planting and serving in the local Baptist church before moving back up to Queensland.
I have a background in panel beating, tree-lopping and landscaping and I never ever thought I would become a pastor. My life was a mess, full of bad choices and addictions. But once I heard the gospel, everything began to change. It’s like I became a new man. The direction of my life changed most dramatically.
In 2016 I completed a Bachelor of Theology at Queensland Theological College and we both have a wide range of ministry experience. Though pastoring certainly comes with weighty responsibilities, I know this is my calling. I have good news to tell people, a message of hope to proclaim, and I will never stop.
After having served for many years in various churches and ministries in different Australian states, of latter times it has been our privilege to serve as senior pastor at Bribie Island Baptist Church and now, in retirement, as enthusiastic and active servants with Sandstone Community Church.
It has been wonderful to also be actively involved with and support the wider local community. Because of Jesus we seek to be a blessing wherever, whenever and with whatever we have to share the wonderful ‘good news’ message of the difference that comes from knowing and serving our mighty God in a personal way.
We consider ourselves to have been blessed by God to be a blessing to God and through Him to bless the lives of others.
